15' SeaCraft Scampi Brochure
The 15' Scampi was considered SeaCraft's "Fun Boat". Designed and first built in 1966, it sported an 80hp or a 120hp Mercruiser I/O with a clear bubble over the engine and performed at 40 and 45mph, respectively. She had fiberglass contour seats with leg room in the rear and a pair of bucket seats up front. A fast little boat appealing to the young boating enthusiast.
The first Scampi off the production line was given to Carl Kiekhaefer for his birthday at Lake X and named "Mr K". Carl Moesly had been invited to Lake X for it's debut and knew right away it did not have the normal engine. It flew around Lake X at over 55mph!
