SeaCraft Racing Boats

As the engines got bigger, the boats got faster and the races got tougher.  When the racing rules changed mid-60's, then came the specially designed boats, modified and super-charged engines.  Also came the powerful supporters, the very serious drivers and lots of money at stake.  As many small companies backed out of the racing circuit, Carl continued to build raceboats, some longer, narrower and lower, ranging from 25' to 30'.  Not only did he build them for himself, but for his competitors too.

Articles written about the offshore ocean races in Florida during the 1960's document the facts, but behind each race, there are incredible stories only the drivers can tell.  It has often been said, "Ocean racing separated the men from the boys".

Building a Race Boat

Build it light...yet strong to withstand the rough waters of ocean racing.
Note the transom on left that can be moved forward or aft, depending on the length of race boat desired.
